Life Skills

At our day centres we like to help service users to develop their life skills wherever possible. We have the facilities to practise skills such as preparing food and drink, baking, and making cups of tea.

Once a goal is identified, we build towards it gradually by breaking it down into smaller steps. For instance, if learning to make a cup of tea, a service user might first need to become confident in filling and boiling a kettle, before approaching the following steps next time.

This learning can take place in small “classes” if service users have shared interests and capabilities.

We also offer accredited courses for service users in numeracy, literacy and cooking – please contact us for further details.
